Well done to all our winners and participants. Thanks are due to Douglas Gibson for preparing the courts beautifully on Friday, preparation which was unfortunately overtaken by gale force winds making the pine needles drop like snow on Sunday. Thanks also to Ian Hunter for taking entries and preparing the draws.
Scone Tennis Club hosted the annual John Jasper Tournament last Sunday and Rosemary Price, Social Convenor, emailed round to say thank all those who those supported our tournament. The weather was not great although the rain stayed away but we had a good turnout from both our club and other local clubs and even included some new faces. The social tennis followed the format of playing with everyone against everyone which was greatly enjoyed. We finished up with a delicious selection of cakes and tea with everyone asking when the next social event would be!
The Men’s Quaich was won by Marcin Tycner from Scone, who only narrowly beat Sam Cunningham, also of Scone, and the Ladies Quaich winner was Megan Avolio from Blairgowrie. Congratulations to our winners.
We also raised £100 for John’s favourite charity, ENABLE. A big Thank You to all who came along and donated.
